C.I.E.H. Level 2 Award in the Principles of C.O.S.H.H.

This qualification is designed for those who use substances hazardous to health at work.

It introduces candidates to substances, the risks and controls available, and outlines what to expect from a Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (C.O.S.H.H.) assessment.

Who should attend?

All employees - the qualification will prepare employees to contribute to the safer use of hazardous substances in their workplaces.

Course Content:

The qualification covers the following topics:

  • Definition and types of substances hazardous to health in the workplace
  • Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes
  • C.O.S.H.H. assessments and control options
  • Responsibilities imposed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
Course Duration:

Half day

Assessment Method:

Short objective test of 30 questions

Entry Requirements:

Candidates should have completed the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or similar

Delivery Method:

By use of exercises, handouts and group work etc in an informal setting, either on your premises or in our training room. Each student receives a copy of the textbook and handouts. Our courses are conducted in English, but a range of foreign language papers and work books are available for candidates who would find it easier.

Qualification:

Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in the Principles of C.O.S.H.H.

Course Evaluation:

At the end of the course, as part of our quality monitoring procedures and to contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the programme, all delegates will be asked to complete a course evaluation.

Suggested progression on completion:

C.I.E.H. Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
