C.I.E.H. Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment

Raises employees awareness of the concept of risk assessment in a work environment

Overview

The Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment is a new C.I.E.H. qualification designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety.

Its main purpose is to enable learners to understand the basic principles of risk assessment. This qualification will therefore give all employees the ability to contribute to the process and act always to protect their own health and safety and that of others.

Please note: The C.I.E.H. Level 2 Certificate in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice has become C.I.E.H. Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice. The Level 3 Award provides supervisors and managers with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out risk assessments. To find out more about Level 3, for further information.

Course Content:
  • Main causes of accidents and ill health, and their implications for people in the workplace
  • Legal requirements for risk assessment
  • Principles of risk assessment including:
    • hazards, risks and control measures
    • the five steps of risk assessment
    • the hierarchy of control
    • risk assessment review and record keeping.

30 question multi-choice examination paper

None - Appropriate for all employees

Delivery Method:

By use of exercises, handouts and group work etc in an informal setting, either on your premises or in our training room. Each student receives a copy of the textbook and handouts. Our courses are conducted in English, but a range of foreign language papers and work books are available for candidates who would find it easier.

Course Evaluation:

At the end of the course, as part of our quality monitoring procedures and to contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the programme, all delegates will be asked to complete a course evaluation.
