This is a level 3 food safety course, has replaced the Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety, and looks at the subject of the level 2 award in much more detail. Candidates get a greater understanding of food poisoning bacteria and contamination, and ways to prevent this happening, at a more supervisory level.
The Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety course is aimed at anyone working in a food business at supervisory level. This includes ‘traditional’ supervisors and team leaders, but also anyone who needs a broad understanding of food hygiene as part of their work e.g. chefs, owners of small businesses and anyone else who has responsibility for food safety in the workplace.
The qualification covers the following topics:
The course is run over 3 full days, normally 1 day per week over 3 weeks or as a block.
Either a 2-hour, 60 question multi-choice question paper or a 2 hour written examination
Pass mark - 40/60 questions, Credit pass 50/60.
Candidates should have completed the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or similar. A reasonable level of writing and comprehension ability is necessary to be successful in the written examination.
By use of exercises, handouts and group work etc in an informal setting, either on your premises or in our training room. Each student receives a copy of the textbook and handouts. Our courses are conducted in English, but a range of foreign language papers and work books are available for candidates who would find it easier.

At the end of the course, as part of our quality monitoring procedures and to contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the programme, all delegates will be asked to complete a course evaluation.
