Safety Representatives
This training is aimed to raise awareness of health and safety issues and to equip delegates to contribute positively on Safety Committees and to enable them to act effectively in their capacity as safety representatives, as per the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.
New or experienced non-union safety representatives
The qualification covers the following topics:
- Understand the legal framework of safety, health and welfare at work legislation
- Identify potential hazards and assess the risk associated
- Assist in compiling a safety statement
- Understand the functions and role of the safety representative within the organisation
- Help prevent accidents at work
- Recognise basic safety audit and/or accident investigation technique

On-course evaluation
Candidates should preferably have completed the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or similar
By use of exercises, handouts and group work etc in an informal setting, either on your premises or in our training room. Each student receives a copy of the textbook and handouts. Our courses are conducted in English, but a range of foreign language papers and work books are available for candidates who would find it easier.
No
Norman Gentry Consulting Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all delegates successfully completing the course.
At the end of the course, as part of our quality monitoring procedures and to contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the programme, all delegates will be asked to complete a course evaluation.
